An it came to pass that it was winter in the city of Boston, and the Gentry's live in a home with no heat.

Last night I got home from work to find the house freezing cold. I looked at the thermostat to see that Christian had turned it down to 60 before he left for work. So I turned it up hoping that the house would get warmer (this approach has always worked for me in the past). A few hours later, and still freezing, I finally figured out that even with the thermostat at 70 there was no heat being placed into my home. This morning we called the landlord and she quickly called the heating company. They told us they would be here to fix the heater between 12pm-6pm. Here it is 4:30p.m. and we still have no heat. Luckily it is not a 16 degree day today!
We have been dog sitting Gatsby this week for Bonnie and Patrick. He is a little min pin and weighs no more than 10lbs. He has not been enjoying this cold too much. We have been using a space heater to keep us warm today and well.....Gatsby has made a new best friend. He has been sitting and rotating his body around that heater all day. It doesn't seem to bother McDuff at all, but that is probably because he is a much bigger boy than little Gatsby.

Gatsby literally stood there rotating sides for an hour this morning.

By the afternoon, he realized he could lay in front of heater and rotate as needed. Smart dog!

How funny, not that you don't have heat, but about Gatsby. Hope you didn't freeze off anything vital or necessary. I made it through the Holidays down here and my mother and I are still speaking to each other. Hallelujah, miracles are still happening in the Christmas season.
Talk to you soon!

Hahah! I laughed so hard when I saw this- it's such a Gatsby thing to do. I especially like the first picture. He looks a little guilty don't you think? Its like he's saying- "Come on, you'd do it too if you were me!"

Thanks again for the dog-sitting. I think Gatsby liked having a friend to play with. He seems a little down now without his new buddy. If you ever need someone to watch McDuff let us know!
