Today was one of those memorable days that I will never forget. It was an exciting day to watch Barack Obama be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.
I'll never forget the day after the election; I arrived at my place of work, which is normally a very quite place where people are busy at work in their cubicles, to find a very loud and energized group of people. Everyone in my office was so excited about Obama's win. People were walking around with smiles on their faces, smiling and hugging each other. It was especially exciting to see how touching this was for my African American co-workers and what a huge deal this was for them. I felt so blessed to be part of such an exciting time and wonderful election.
Today, as the country is in such turmoil, it was amazing to watch the people flock to Washington D.C. to see the President Elect be sworn in. Obama has given so many people a feeling hope, a feeling that has been lacking in our leadership for some time. I have never seen so much passion and anticipation for a President; and I have to say that I am proud to be an American today. I feel hope and excitement about our country's future and the direction our new President will take us. My emotions were high today watching the Inauguration and this history making day.
What a great day!
