The building was constructed in the 1950’s just outside of Harvard Square in one of the most beautiful parts of Cambridge, just across the street from the Longfellow House. Countless general authorities, LDS scholars, and dozens of bloggernacle members have called this building their spiritual home at one time or another."(http://www.faithpromotingrumor.com/2009/05/tragedy-in-cambridge-ma/)
I still cannot believe this beautiful building burnt down. My heart is truly heavy. This is not the church we attend weekly, but it is in our stake and a place where I have worked as a therapist for LDS Family Services for over a year. It is a place where all the children in our ward are baptized, where many in our ward met their spouse, where Christian plays basketball, and where General Conference is broadcast. I have spent much time in this amazing church; I never found myself attached to any of the chapels in Utah, but the chapels out here have so much history it is hard not to grow attached.
This is a picture of the chapel I took last summer.

Oh my word. I cried when I read your post and I don't even have any attachment to that chapel. That is so sad to see a dedicated chapel burned. I am so upset. Please update us and let me know if this was accidental or arson.
Yikes! Glad everyone was OK, our watching of that conference was not nearly as exciting. So sad.
I am so glad that you made it out alive but so sad about your chapel. Its funny the things that we attach to isnt it. I love you and take care...
I'm glad you're all safe! Good thing you didn't skip stake conference like everyone else:)I am sorry to see such a historical site be lost!
Hope everyone was okay -- so sad! I'm with Meghan -- let us know!
Laci! That is so sad. How scary too. Glad you are ok.
I loved this building! This is where I went to church when I lived in Boston and it really has a special feel. I am so sad about this but I'm glad you are all okay.
