The Great Outdoors

Our first camping trip of the summer happened.  We stayed on the Cape at the Shawme Crowell campsites, which are just over the Sagamore Bridge.  It was a nice campsite and not too crowded; there were lots of carpenter ants, but the mosquito situation is much less than when we camp in the Berkshires each year.

Berkeley really loves camping and was so looking forward to our first trip.  He was daddy's little helper, setting up the tent, hammering in the stakes, and picking up firewood.  He was especially excited to get to spend some time with two of his favorite people, Auntie G and Aunt Steffy.

The Aunties always have the cool toys, and they did not disappoint this time around with this cool hammock that Berkeley played in non stop.
We spend some time at the beach and some time at a pond the next day.  We enjoyed the amazing food that always gets made when cooking and then we came home exhausted.

I tend to forget how much work camping actually is, but it sure is fun and this little boy of mine sure loves it, so I suppose it is worth it.
