Gram

It seems to me that a week at work can often go by so slow; you find yourself waking up Wednesday dreading that there are still 3 more full work days to go, and just cannot believe that the time is going by so slow. The opposite thing seems to happen when you have a fun visitor; the time just flies by as you are having so much fun and the next thing you know the week is over and they are leaving.

My Gram came to visit for an entire week; it was so much fun to have around. As far as house guest go, she was the BEST! I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful Gram and that Berke gets to have a relationship with his Great Gram. Berkeley is always happy when we have visitors because he seems to know that means he gets extra love and attention.
I loved having Gram around so Christian and I could go on a few dates!
That is correct, we went on THREE dates while Gram was here. It was wonderful to have someone around to watch Berke so C and I could go out on the town. Thursday night we went downtown to see Jim Gaffigan at the Wilbur Theater. Christian bought me the tickets as a Valentine's present which was the best. Jim is one of our favorite comedians and he did NOT disappoint! He was so funny and it was great to laugh for nearly two hours. Amazing how much he can talk about food and it never gets old. Thankfully he closed out the show with his ever so famous Hot Pocket sketch. It was a lot of fun.
We also got to go to the gym together one morning, which is something we NEVER get to do. I had a great time watching Christian sweat and pushing him to new limits! (Insert evil laugh here).
Then the night before Gram left we went out on a spontaneous movie date. I even talked Christian into seeing a Chick Flick which NEVER happens.
Gram is the BEST babysitter ever. She loves to play with Berkeley; she just gives him so much love and plays with him constantly. She is so patient and loving and it was really fun to watch. Berke loved having his Gram around.
Friday Night I took my Gram on a surprise date! We went downtown and ate at Legal Seafood and then saw the Blue Man Group. It was a BLAST and Gram loved it! It was so much better than both of us anticipated, I cannot believe we waited so long to see it. Afterward we headed to Finale for some amazing dessert. It was a great night out on the town for sure.

We had a lot of family time together as well. We had fun mainly shopping, eating, playing, eating and more eating.
One night we let Berke have Chocolate Cake for dinner. We felt like parents of the year; I guess that is what happens when Gram comes to town. Berke just started eating cake two weeks ago; he finally figured out what he was missing and is now OBSESSED with it. We went to the S and S to eat and he got a hold of the dessert menu. He kept yelling, "I want chocolate cake!" So we gave in (we are so weak).
Look how much this kid is loving it!
Did I mention that Gram is the best cause she loves to play. We had a great time one night playing with all of the Mickey Mouse toys B has, what a fun time.
Whenever Gram is around, shopping is sure to be had. We had a nice trip to the mall and found these awesome Boston Bruins shirts on a killer deal. I love my little Bruins fan!
Sunday morning brunch was a must! We invited along our neighbor Bob to join us and had a great time at the Highland Kitchen which was delicious but loud! Oh how I love a good brunch and good company!

We did make a trip to the toy store so Gram could buy Berke a toy (this kid is so spoiled)! We found these great water color pages that Berke adores. He also got a cool new drum and bought a cool digger that makes sounds. This kid was in HEAVEN!
We are sad that Gram left. It was nice that she and Berke could build a nice relationship this trip, it was wonderful to watch. I love my Gram and am so glad she came out to see us.
We miss you Gram, thanks for coming for a visit!

Winter is my least favorite season; even though we have had a very mild winter I still find myself hibernating from the cold weather.
We have been inside our house perhaps too much, but we've been having as much fun as we possibly can. We built a fort one night and enjoyed all the static electricity! We watched Fantasia in our fort on the lap top. As a child I was bored to tears watching that show, but this kid LOVED it! He kept asking, "Where'd the conducta go?"
It is becoming apparent that my kid has a Boston accent.
The Museum of Science is to Winter as the park is to Summer.
We recently had a nice play date with Q and Megan.
Christian and I got to go on a date this weekend! Auntie G and Aunt Stefy babysat little B while we went out. It was a win win for all members of the family. It was SO awesome to have some one on one time with my main squeeze. We took the T to Back Bay and ate at a lovely Cafe and then went to the Boston Lyric Theater and saw the play, "Superior Donuts." It was quite a delightful little show and made us both miss going to the theater.

It is always a special treat to walk around Back Bay and see all the beautiful buildings. I cannot believe we haven't been inside this library yet, this summer for sure!
The Big Superbowl happened and the entire city was excited. Everyone was wearing their Patriots Gear and could be seen walking down the street with their brown bag full of beer, chips and salsa. Bob bought Berke this cool shirt which he will be wearing for years to come; how is it possible that we have the worlds best neighbors?
I asked Berke to say "Patriots are #1" and this is what he gave me....I guess he knew they were going to lose.....:(
It was nice to watch the game with good friends and good food.
Berke and Christian enjoyed the 50 degree weather on Monday and ventured to the park. Berke was in HEAVEN, oh he misses running around at this silly place.
That is it, just standard winter stuff around our house.
We are looking forward to Grandma Taft coming out for a visit next week; she will be here for an entire week and we are so excited!
