Confessions of a temporary stay at home mom!

All right, so I have to admit, I have not perhaps used some of my time during this maternity leave to the best of my ability. I have done some things that I am not proud of and I need to get them off my chest.
When Berkeley was just a week old, Christian went to our local library and checked out some movies for me. He brought home a series called McLeod's Daughters, an Australian drama about a pair of sisters trying to run their ranch after their father's death. I didn't think I would really like this series as it seemed kind of cheesy, yet after the first few episodes I was hooked! Next thing you know, I have season 2 on hold and then sped through watching that and travel to a library much farther away than our local library to get season 3. I just could not stop, these ladies were like family. Here is the confession: I watched 3 seasons in 3 weeks; 74 episodes at 43 minutes a piece equals 53 hours of my time (2 FULL days plus 5 more hours). I became so involved in this show that at the end of season 3, I was sobbing like a baby due to events that took place on the show, I was seriously shaken up. It was at this point that I had to put a STOP to things! There are SEVEN seasons available, but I have stopped myself from watching any more episodes.

Confession #2
When my mom and grandma were here, we bought these brownies at Costco and between the four of us we at this entire box in THREE days!!! These things are delectable, don't ever buy them because once you start....you cant stop.

B DUB

This is how we spent Friday night.
I love how babies sleep! Why don't we still sleep with our arms over our heads? I guess they would have to make beds a bit longer if we did.

No, I don't let my child fall asleep on his stomach! Cute story (at least to a silly mom); Berke was having some tummy time on his Boppy. He wasn't liking it too much and started fussing after two or so minutes. I put my hand under his head to try to show him that this was a time to strengthen his neck, as soon as my hand went under his head it took him 2 seconds and he was asleep, head in hand! It was the cutest thing; Tummy time just tuckered the little man out!
Doesn't Berkeley look excited to take a bath?

So who do you think Mr. B Dub looks like? So far all comments have gone
towards Christian.
I apologize if you are sick of seeing pictures of Berke, but there are many family members and friends out there that keep requesting MORE pictures. I cannot deny them the right to see such an adorable boy.

It has been pretty cold here in Boston as of late; the other day on our ventures around town, I spotted this woman trying to keep warm. I don't think she knew that she had the security strip still on, perhaps she should leave her hood down!

I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!

Time has gone by so fast; I cannot believe my little Berkeley is already a month old! He is growing so much each day and I am wishing I had a time machine to make time stand still. Berkeley has stolen both his mommy and his daddy's hearts, we admit that we are smitten! We love this little man's big blue eyes, the way he shapes his mouth when he is hungry (we call it bird face), his dying engine like cry, his little button nose, and every little thing about him.
Berkeley is always making us laugh and he doesn't even try! He already has lots of nicknames already, some of them are:

Little Berkeley Boy (his daddy makes up songs for him and it always starts out with this name)
Berkeley Bill
BW (B-DUB)
Berkey Berke
Little Man
One eyed Willie
(he does a cute little pirate face, where only one eye is open)

Berkeley is a wonderful sleeper for a newborn; at night he always sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches and we have even had a handful of nights where he has gone 5 hours straight!

Berkeley has also started taking baths and he is liking them more and more. Yeah for clean, yummy smelling babies!
If we want to get him to sleep we just put him in his Baby Bjorn or his car seat and he passes out!
We love this guy so much! He has truly turned out world upside down and we couldn't be happier.
Love you Little Man!

Yeah for Grandma(s)!!

My mom does not like to travel, in fact she will avoid it at all cost. She would much rather pay for a plane ticket for me to visit her than come and visit me. However, once I had little Berkeley, her second grandson she could not keep herself away! My mom came and spent a whole week with us last week and she brought my grandma with her.
It was so much fun to have them around. Of coarse my mom LOVES being a grandma and couldn't put little Berkeley down. I was quite spoiled as well, as my mom was great to do the grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and all the dishes while she was here. She was a huge blessing from above!
Four Generations
(youngest to oldest)
Berkeley, Laci, Karen, and Lucile

Here is Berkeley with his grandma and his great grandma, they couldn't get over how beautiful he is and neither can I!

We did stay in and hang out quite a bit, I also wanted them to see a few of the sites the area had to offer (although winter is not the best site seeing time around these parts).
We made a trip to Salem, MA where we played with witches and pirates.
ARGGG!
I think this WITCH was trying to cast a spell on us.
We also visited Lexington and Concord and saw some of the history there and visited the cute shops and restaurants of the area.
I wanted my mom and Grandma to meet my neighbor Charlotte, who takes such good care of us, so we went to her house and she gave us our own "Boston Tea Party."
Moms visiting are good for lots of things, especially telling you that your bathroom is ugly and then helping you redecorate it! My bathroom has these beautiful turquoise walls and I had purple in there forever because it is what I had. However, mom told me that it had to go and I listened. This is what we came up with instead, I think it is pretty cute! Thanks mom!
It was wonderful having my mom and grandma come out and visit us! Berkeley loved meeting his family and is anxious to meet more! I miss my family so much and it is always a treat to get to spend time with them! Love you guys!
