2013, A Year in Review

Family Highlights from 2013

  • In March we found out we were expecting our 2nd child.  Berkeley was able to come with us to the ultrasound to find out we were having a little girl.

  • A week long vacation in July to North Carolina to visit our friends the Shifflers.  We had a wonderful time going to museums, a parade, a baseball game, the Biltmore Estate, and staying up late laughing and chatting with our friends.


  •  Getting through the Boston Marathon Bombing ordeal and feeling a greater strength in our community and family.
  •  Three family camping trips in a tent which included swimming in lakes, making s'mores around the fire, and playing with lots of rocks and sticks.


  • Weekend trip to Montreal Canada with the Lauren and Travis.  

  • Having half of the Heaps crew visit Boston and getting to spend time with them 
  • Enjoyed a fun weekend getaway to the White Mountains in the Fall with the Beesley's for some beautiful leaf peeping
  • Mom Sorrels visiting and celebrating the New Year and Berkeley's Birthday with us.
  • The arrival of Vivienne Dianne Gentry on December 21st. 


Berkeley Highlights
  • Completed ice skating lessons and was able to skate on his own
  • Participated in swim lessons and isn't afraid to get his face wet any more
  • Enjoyed soccer lessons
  • Loved visiting his cousins and grandparents in Utah for Easter
  • Enjoyed play dates with various friends
  • Loved going on a father/son camp out with his daddy
  • Learned to ride his balance bike
  • Became a big brother
  • Attends preschool full time and loves learning and playing with his friends 
  • Loved visiting the movie theater numerous times this year to see various children's films

 Laci Highlights

  • Survived pregnancy and delivery of baby #2
  • Enjoyed a trip to Utah in March to visit family with Berkeley
  • Had wonderful girls trip to Ft. Lauderdale, FL with Julia and Wendy filled with laughter, sun and beaches
  • Celebrated 11 years of marriage
  • Changed jobs within her company and is now working at one of the Nursing Homes and is loving it.
  • Delivered a beautiful and healthy baby girl

 Christian Highlights
  • Was hired full time at Framingham State University
  • Worked tirelessly at 2 different colleges and maintained a small piano studio
  • Loved his father/son camp out with Berkeley
  • Enjoyed a writing conference in North Carolina for NEC
  • Finished several compositions and had a couple of them played around Boston and at FSU
  • Survived the mood swings of his pregnant wife, as well as only having 1/3 of the bed to sleep on thanks to all the pillows she slept with.
  • Has a fuller heart with the birth of his daughter
